Every Step Counts 2024 Recap

Bello Machre, a Maryland non-profit organization that provides services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, held its 33rd annual Every Step Counts event on Saturday, June 8^th, 2024. The fundraiser, held at Anne Arundel Community College and Manchester Valley High School, raised upwards of $200,000 in donations and sponsorships from generous businesses, participants, families, and community members. These contributions will directly benefit individuals and families served by Bello Machre.

Special guests in attendance included Delegate Brian Chisholm, Carroll County Commissioner Kenneth Kiler, and Councilmembers Amanda Fiedler, Lisa Rodvien, and Pete Smith.

“The joy and the fulfillment of life that Bello Machre gives to so many people is amazing to me,” shared Delegate Chisholm on the mainstage at Every Step Counts.

Councilmember Rodvien added, “Every Step Counts is one of my new favorite events because it was all about love and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.”

The annual fundraiser united members of the community, including sponsors, partners, community leaders, individuals, and families receiving services at Bello Machre. Also present were Bello Machre Board Members and employees. Attendees enjoyed a lively morning featuring activities such as walking, biking, face painting, raffles, games, and dancing—all in support of Bello Machre’s mission to provide a lifetime of loving care and opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.

The event was made possible thanks to Presenting Sponsors Commercial Insurance Managers and SCLogic. Both sponsors generously donated $25,000 towards Every Step Counts in support of Bello Machre’s mission. Champion Sponsor, Shore United Bank, graciously donated $10,000, and Ambassador Sponsors: Cattail Construction Inc., Gavigan’s Home Furnishings, and Waverly Construction & Management each gave $5,000.

Event Coordinator, Alexis Jaynes shares, “Every Step Counts is a collective action and compassion from our community, where each stride brings us closer to a world where everyone is supported and valued.”

The fun-filled morning was made possible with the help of Mr. Moonbounce LLC and Millennial-X Entertainment who provided fun and entertainment throughout the entirety of the event.

AACC Facilities, AACC Public Safety, AACC Event Services, and Manchester Valley High School made the event possible thanks to providing clean and safe locations for the community fundraiser.

Seating accommodations were provided by Absolute Party Rental, and Gotugo supplied restroom services at the beautiful Anne Arundel Community College.

Signature Every Step Counts shirts and handouts were provided by our friends at ASAP Screen Printing & Embroidery. Bello Machre’s marketing partners at ClearEdge Marketing assisted in coordinating event promotion and marketing campaigns.

For the Carroll County location, festivities and utilities were provided by our friends at Dreamers Event Rentals, Shiny Entertainment, LLC., Pixie Dust Creations, and Porta-Potty Dogs.
